Technology refresh provides easier access to rego details

26 June 2008

Simplified search procedures will make it easier and faster for authorities to track the registration of cars and boats in Queensland.

Information broker CITEC Confirm announced today that the number of screens required to achieve a search result through its Queensland Motor Vehicle Registry (QMVR) product had been reduced from five to three.

“We’ve really managed to streamline QMVR as part of a major technology refresh we’re rolling out this year,” said CITEC Confirm General Manager Peter Buchan.

“We’ve improved client useability by introducing a new look and feel to the search product and by significantly reducing the number of screen transitions required to achieve a result.”

QMVR provides direct access to Queensland Transport’s registry for motor vehicles and boats and is widely used by institutional clients such as local authorities, insurance companies, law firms and the Family Court of Australia.

“Insurance companies are among our major users, pursuing due diligence after a car accident,” Mr Buchan said.

“Law firms also use QMVR for injury claims resulting from car accidents.

“Consider the number of registered cars and boats in Queensland – what we’ve done with our refresh is make it as easy and fast as possible for our clients to find a needle in a haystack.”

Another big advantage of the QMVR technology refresh is that clients will have 30 days to retrieve results from the CITEC Confirm Inbox.

“Previously, clients had only a few days to retrieve results and major users sometimes had to repeat searches due to the sheer volume of work being processed at any one time,” Mr Buchan said.

“To make it easy to attach search data to case files or other relevant documentation, results will be supplied as user friendly PDFs.”
