Check search

A South Australian check search displays any registered, unregistered, or completed dealings associated with a title that have been completed in the last 90 days.

A check search will also display any priority notices that have been lodged, extended or withdrawn against a title within the last 90 days.

What information do I need to provide for a check search?

Three options are available to do a check search via our online service:

Search by street address

This is our recommended method to do a check search. Simply enter a full or partial street address, and we’ll retrieve a list of all available titles for properties matching that address, free of charge.

You can then browse the list of available titles and select as many as you require. Each title you order a check search for will incur a separate charge.

We’ll calculate the total cost before you place your order.

Search by volume/folio (title reference)

This method will search the South Australian title registry for an exact match. You should only use this search method if you are certain that the volume/folio details you have will return the land title you require for your check search.

Simply select the appropriate title register, then enter the volume and folio number.

Search by plan/parcel

To search by plan and parcel, simply select the plan type and enter at least the plan number. A parcel number is optional and can help narrow your search.

We’ll retrieve a list of all available titles for properties matching those details.

Select the titles you need to do a search for from the list of possible matches. Each title you order a check search for will incur a separate charge.

We’ll calculate the total cost before you place your order.

What can I use the result for?

  • Check if dealings, plans and priority notices have been lodged against a title before settlement.
  • Assist with property research and conveyancing matters.

How will I receive my results?

You can obtain your results in multiple ways once you have completed your search and arrived at the My results page.

You’ll be able to download the check search results for individual land titles as PDFs, as soon as they are returned from Land Services SA. If you have searched for multiple land titles, we’ll also provide a ZIP archive containing all successfully returned check search results.

You can also request an email containing all successful check search results as individual PDF attachments.

If you need to download additional copies of your results at a later date, you can access your past search results from the Inbox/My results section of the Confirm website. A link to this section is in the Confirm header menu available on all pages.

In the Inbox/My results section, select the Application ‘SALO – SA Land Searches’ and enter date and time details to see your previous South Australian land search results.
